The designs on the open jacket are embroidered with white threads, flowers and elaborate geometric designs. Fully lined, great textile costume collector piece from the Balkans. This bridal outer garment is of a red color that features elaborate and intricate brocade embroidery in gold and silk threads. Using brilliant colored and gold threads, the artisan decorated the kimono with the design of a Japanese nature scene and water garden with pagodas, trees, bridges, and mountain scenes throughout in brilliant colors of green, blue, red and gold.. They form roundel motifs in a highly elaborate layout, especially striking when viewed from the back. The interior of the kimono is also padded with red fabric and weighted down at the bottom trim.
