Pair of Antique Victorian Cast Iron & Brass Figural Roaring Lion Andirons
About the Item
This pair of antique andirons are unsigned, but presumed to have originated from England and date to approximately 1880 and done in the period Victorian style. The andirons are done in ornately cast iron and depict rearing and roaring figural lions holding one paw on a brass shield with long flowing mains. The lions are standing on a cast base with scrolled feet and pierced accenting decoration.
