Antique Salvaged Hand Carved Carrera Marble Fragment Depicting Joan of Arc
About the Item
This salvaged carved architectural element is unsigned, but presumed to have originated from France and date to approximately 1835 and done in a Neoclassical style. This antique fragment is done with a slab of carrera marble and depicts the facial profile of 'Joan of Arc'. We have no provenance for this piece, but believe it is a fragment from either an interior or exterior facade of a building. The fragment is hand-carved and is titled along the left border.
