This is an antique ship's mooring bitt or maritime bollard. An extremely heavy (170Kg / 375lb), English, cast iron ship’s capstan dating to the late Georgian period, circa 1800.
Stout bollards with 39cm (15.25 inches) mooring height
Desirable, time served patina
One side features a flared mooring arm for easier rope location
Broad mounting plate with six bolt holes
