Large Lateral Push Pull Door Handle of Cast Bronze
About the Item
A large lateral push-pull door handle of abstract Brutalist design. European, second half 20th century.
A striking piece - made to span the full width of a door - formed from cast patinated bronze showing mid to dark brown and green tones. The repeating pattern has a slight variation at one end for ease of handling; this end can be positioned to the left or right as the design is symmetrical. Previously used outside, the piece could also be used inside as required.
Installation
The handle has a bracket at each end, held in place with screws; we have not tried to remove these fittings. The brackets are supplied with original heavy bolts with decorative bronze nuts to attach the handle to your door. Please be aware this is a heavy piece and suitable installation will be required; you may need to vary the fixings to suit your project.
Overall the piece is in good vintage condition with signs of weathering and minor distortion from age and use; one of the brackets is slightly closed.
