Hardwood Ruler for Hudson Engineering NJ by Geiger Bros Newark US, Ca 1920

About the Item

This is a wooden desk ruler promoting the Hudson Engineering Co. who were based in Hoboken, New Jersey, US and produced by Geiger Brothers of Newark New Jersey, in the early 20th century. The hard wood ruler is 15 inches long and is printed / engraved in black with various markings as per the images and showing the maker, Geiger Bros. on the top left hand corner, when they were operating from Newark, New Jersey, US. Andrew and Jacob Geiger opened Geiger Bros., a one-room print shop in Newark, New Jersey in 1878 and in 1955 they relocated from New Jersey to Lewiston, Maine. To our knowledge they are still trading today as Geiger and are one of the worlds' largest promotional products distributors. This is an interesting piece with direct historical links to the Hudson River / New Jersey, United States area. We date this item to the early part of the 20th century, circa 1920.
