1895 York Vault Door Engineered by Benjamin Tripp of Boston

About

Fabulous 1895 York vault door and frame engineered by Benjamin F Tripp. Absolutely gorgeous and made by the best of them all from that period. Mr. Tripp of Boston built the vaults at the Federal Reserve and is known to have engineered most of the important vaults of that time. Today Mr. Tripp's work is viewed as the art that it is. The attention to detail along with the all-over engraving draws your eye as if viewing a painting. Oddly the outside of the door was painted white covering all that beautiful steel, easily removed if that is your preference. A local Boston bank has a similar door which was removed, turned on to its side and made in to a desk for one of the executives. Without issue, working and intact. Located a few feet from the front door with two steps to go down. Located and on display in Plymouth Ma. Frame, ramp, etc are included but are to be removed by buyer. I am told the door can disassembled in layers. Removal and delivery at buyer's expense. Measures: Width is 47 inches, depth 14.5 inches and height 92 inches. Wheel on front of door protrudes 7 1/2 inches.
