Antique Hand Forged Arts and Crafts Wrought Iron Firescreen w. Perfect Wire Mesh

About the Item

Stylish and incredibly durable, antique ironwork firescreen. This good size and top quality workmanship firescreen dates from the European Arts and Crafts era and we were quite surprised not to find any maker's marks on it, because this is the type of quality that will literally last for centuries. This timeless Arts and Crafts design can be used in all kinds of interiors, even in contemporary ones. The fact that a true artisan has spent a whole lot of time, dedication, focus and skill in hand-creating this screen ofcourse ads to the look and feel. Especially in this hasty, modern era more and more people are starting to appreciate the quality, durability and decorative value of the workmanship of this bygone era. In image 18 you can see that this strong and stable antique still is as straight as an arrow as well. At some point in time this wrought iron work of beauty was slightly 'over cleaned' which is why the patina is not equally warm (or dark) everywhere. The perfect condition (no tears or holes whatsoever) and fine mazed wire mesh will prevent sparks from shooting onto your wooden floor or fireplace rug. This probably unique and certainly stylish and top quality made screen is both beautiful and practical and again great value for money. Especially when taken into account that perfect packing and worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days are complimentary. Maximum height x width x depth: 39.8 x 30.3 x 10.6 inches. Height x width of the wire mesh: 24.4 x 19.4 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again). You can shop all our 1000+ listings by pushing the button that reads 'View All From Seller'.

Rare, decorative and practical 'slide-in' fireplace with dragonheads. Most of the 19th century and early 20th century mansions in Europe had fireplaces both in the living rooms downstairs and in the (larger) bedrooms upstairs. Most of the mantle pieces survived, but the actual wrought iron fire places that were in them have disappeared, because over the decades they got replaced by new kinds of heating. This hand-crafted and stylish fireplace from the Arts and Crafts era was adjusted slightly, because it was used as a gas heater...
