An elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu fireguard. The fireguard is raised by its original casters under handsome paw feet and scrolled legs. Above are beautiful pierced foliate scrolled movements centering the impressive and finely detailed Hercules with his club on his shoulder and lions on a leash. At the border are striking clouds and dragons with a beautiful seashell reserve above.
