Superb Regency Toleware Gilt and Reverse Painted Purdonium

About the Item

A superb regency toleware gilt and reverse painted purdonium A truly stunning piece, this unusually shaped Coal Box has a study of a cathedral reverse painted on curved glass as the front piece, this method of painting is known as Verre Eglomse Gold on Black toleware and still complete with its original liner, shovel in the back, handle on the top The box is in sound condition with the expected ware to the gilding The Purdonium is 23” high, 13” wide and 16” deep TNV66.
