Large Early 20th Century Arts & Crafts Dog Grate

About the Item

Exceptional Arts & Crafts cast iron and brass dog grate, the large lion's paw feet support turned posts which terminate in 10" diameter fretted discs decorated with stylized pomegranates and flowers. The cast iron fireback is decorated with a rosette. Reputed to be from the estate of Sir Frederick Mappin (father of Sheffield), died 1910. Measures: Overall 50" wide (127cm) x 36" high (91cm) 24" deep (61cm).
