A chic, perforated metal flower basket (jardiniere rigitulle) by the modernist French designer Mathieu Matégot (1910-2001). Mategot pioneered the use of perforated sheet metal and lacquered steel in his furniture and decorative objects. Original condition. Reference: a similar jardiniere is illustrated in Mathieu Mategot by Philippe Jousse and Caroline Mondineu, Jousse Enterprise Editions, image #95.
