Napoleon III Sormani 'Rococo' Jardiniere Table

An ebonised and lacquered Louis XV influenced, ormolu mounted, mother of pearl and ormolu inlaid metamorphic jardiniere with shelf; converting back to a galleried gueridon or side table, when its top is in place to cover the planting container. Attributed to Paolo Sormani, born Venice 1817; died Paris 1877.

CONDITION: Good. Unusually fine intact antique condition with no inlay or mounting losses. The metal inset planting container structure was corroded through at its bottom corners as shown in the detail images; necessitating re-fabrication and replacement..
