Basket Woven from Old Japanese Actinidia Polygama and Bamboo/Showa Era/Mingei

About the Item

This is a basket made around the Showa period (1926-1980) in Japan. The material is often bamboo. Bamboo is the thickest belt-like part. Other than that, it is thought that he is using Actinidia polygama again. It was also frequently used in the Tohoku region (the cold region north of Japan), where bamboo was not very native. I think this is also a basket in the Tohoku region. It is often a white material, but it turns brown over time. You can see that this is a very fine knitting method and is carefully made. And the design is very nice. Also, there is a small fray, but overall it is in very good condition. It is also good to hang it on the wall and decorate it with flowers. In Japan, such things are becoming less and less common. We believe that it is our mission to convey the charm of such old things and keep them. Also, I want many people to know the goodness of antiques, so the price is set reasonably. Why don't you show off to your friends around you? Weight: 0.4kg.
