About the Item

Vintage Nantucket Purse by Barbara Grey, circa 1995, a covered oval Nantucket basket, with cane weave on rattan staves, braided leather shoulder strap, turned bone peg, and having a lovely folk art painted whaling scene on the top plate, painted inside and out, signed by V. Pena, dated with a 1995 penny mounted into the bottom plate. The basket remains in great condition with a warm patina. The hinges were already restored by the owner so are strong and tight. The painted seascape remains in great color and condition as well. Measures: 6-3/4 in H x 9-5/8 in L x 7-1/4 in W
