Antonio Salviati Venetian Revival Murano Glass Pedestal Bowl
About the Item
A very fine antique Murano Venetian Revival art glass pedestal bowl by renowned Italian glass maker Antonio Salviati (Italian, 1816 – 1890) probably dating from the latter 19th century. The hand-blown bowl of wide rounded and fluted shape rim with pulled raised points to the edge stands raised on a fine hollow blown twist pattern stem comprising of three blown sections applied with fine heart shaped decoration to either side. The stem sits on a wide slightly domed foot . The bowl is made in a brown fume colour with gold aventurine inclusions. The bowl has all the characteristics of a hand-blown piece with inclusions within the glass and snapped pontils within the bowl and to the base. The bowl is not marked.
