David Cressey California Studio Pottery Planter

About

A rare Mid-Century Modern Robert Maxwell and David Cressey for Earthgender hand-thrown art pottery off-white centerpiece bowl. The large, round and deep ceramic dish features a crenellated rim and abstract green, burnt orange / ochre floral decoration. The bottom of the centerpiece is hand incised with Maxwell's signature and initials. The piece can also be used as a serving bowl or for floral arrangements. Few examples of Earthgender pottery are available, as the company was only in production for four years. Works well with Danish or Scandinavian Modern, as well as traditional decors.
