Hella Jongerius Rare and Important Embroidered Porcelain Bowl

About the Item

This embroidered porcelain bowl, produced by Koninklijke Tichelaar Makkum, the Netherlands, embodies the determination Jongerius has shown in solving impossible problems by working around them. Here, the inspiration comes from the work she had been doing with the acclaimed New York textile firm, Maharam, designs she has taken across mediums, from textiles to porcelain. Produced in a limited edition of 7, plus prototype, the Embroidered Bowl is in the permanent collections of several museums including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Houston, and the Zuiderzee Museum, Eindhoven, the Netherlands. This bowl is the prototype and has been in the collection of the seller for nearly twenty years.
