Large American Studio Pottery Bowl with Turquoise Glaze, Signed

About the Item

A striking large American studio pottery bowl featuring an elegant low, wide form and richly layered glazing. The interior is finished in luminous turquoise and sea-green tones with three plum-colored textured medallions created using a resist or honeycomb pattern technique, adding depth and subtle surface movement. #4978 The exterior transitions to a darker, smoky glaze that contrasts beautifully with the luminous interior, emphasizing the sculptural profile of the vessel. Raised on a small circular foot, the underside bears a hand-painted “PM” monogram, typical of individual studio ceramicists. The bowl exemplifies the expressive glaze experimentation and one-of-a-kind character associated with late 20th-century American studio pottery. Both sculptural and functional, it works beautifully as a centerpiece bowl or decorative object in modern and contemporary interiors.
