Murano Archimede Seguso Glass Bowl with Filigree Sculptural Detailing

About the Item

This beautiful and sophisticated modernist bowl by archived seguso was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production- during the latter half of the 20th century. It features an amorphic kidney form in translucent Murano glass with an undulating indented side. There is a woven filigree pattern (like a fishing net) present throughout the substrate of the glass in opaque white (perhaps a maritime theme) as well as an abstract sculptural embellishment in relief suggestive of a nudibranch or sea slug in translucent emerald glass crawling along the rim of the vessel. With its clean modernist lines and beautiful glass quality, this piece promises to add (more than) a touch of sophistication to any surface that it graces. It is in excellent vintage condition. Italy circa 1960 Dimensions: Height: 3.5" x Width: 5.5" x Depth: 4.5".
