Murano Barbini Vintage Orange Gold Flecks Italian Art Glass Centerpiece Bowl
About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown persimmon orange, controlled bubbles and gold flecks Italian art glass centerpiece bowl. Documented to Master glass artist and designer Alfredo Barbini, circa 1950-1960. The bowl is created with the "Bullicante" bubble technique on the inside, where bubbles are spaced throughout just beneath the surface. The piece is also profusely covered in gold leaf on the inside. The gold catches any light that hits it. It has an unusual rectangular shape, with tall folded sides, and rounded corners. Would make a great display piece on any coffee table, credenza or bedside table. Can be used as a fruit bowl or catchall in any room. Mid-century era. Measures: 9 3/4" long x 7" wide x 3" high.

Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
