Murano Sommerso Glowing Uranium Orange Yellow Italian Art Glass Ashtray Bowl

About the Item

Beautiful, and large, vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso yellow and orange stripe Italian art glass rock shaped bowl, ashtray / sculpture. The piece is created in the manner of designer Antonio da Ros for Cenedese, and Salviati company. The bowl almost glows by itself in normal daylight with such a bright color, but under a black light, the Uranium UV reactive glass really lights up with a bright neon green color. The bowl also has a bright orange stripe draped inside the glass. It is a solid and very thick piece of glass. Very heavy piece. There is an indent on the rim, to place a cigar or cigarette. Would make a great display piece on any console table, dresser or coffee table. Use it as a catchall, ashtray or sculptural piece. You will be able to showcase it as a decorative piece in any room. Mid-century era. Measures: 8 1/4" long x 5 1/4" wide x 3 1/4" high.
