About the Item

A playful and elegant marble tray made of two halves that appear to be matched incorrectly. The simplicity of the shape together with the choice of materials makes this a very versatile piece that can be used to add an understated detail to any environment. The ‘Mistake’ trays explore the themes of accidents and imperfection. The seemingly mistaken pairing of the two parts creates a shape that unlike a typical dish remains open and reveals the object’s section; a feature of the tray that would normally be invisible. The tray is made of black Nero Marquina marble. The parts are separately shaped and machined as a single piece, then cut and glued back together in the new arrangement and finished by hand.
