Venini Scarpa Murano Bollicine White Gold Flecks Italian Art Glass Mini Vase

About the Item

Beautiful antique Murano hand blown Sommerso clear white bubbles and gold flecks Italian art glass mini vase / vide poche. The piece is documented to the Venini company, and created by master designer and architect Carlo Scarpa. The 2 line signature indicates it is circa 1920-1930s. Published design and technique in several Venini books. It looks like model number 3552. Created in the "a Bollicine" Sommerso technique, with thousands of little bubbles that create a lot of depth. It is clearly acid signed "Venini Italia" on the inverted pontil, at the bottom of the piece. It has a layer of gold leaf between the clear outer glass and the bubbles. Would make a great display piece on any desk, curio cabinet or side table. You will be able to showcase it as a decorative piece in any room. Thick and heavy for the size. Art Deco, early Mid-century era. Collectors item! Measures 3 3/8" tall x 3" long and wide at the top. Literature: Venini Glass - It’s History, Artists and Techniques Book, and Venini Glass - Catalogue 1921-2007 Book, by Franco Deboni.
