French Art Deco Coupe in Gilt and Verdigris Metal, Ebony, and Celluloid
$750

About
An elegant Art Deco coupe of gilded and patinated metal, ebony wood, and celluloid, acquired in France and dating circa 1930. The upper surface of the flaring bowl has a warm golden metallic finish with a verdigris treatment on the underside. The green and gold color scheme repeats on the stepped foot. The stem joins the top and base with a bold, geometric inlay pattern of contrasting black wood and off-white celluloid. This handsome and sculptural design would make an ideal luxury accent for a table, mantelpiece, or desk.
Good condition with rubbing at the edges, shallow scuffs/surface scratches, and a few verdigris flakes missing from the underside, measuring 3.25 in. heights x 5.88 in. diameter (at upper rim.) Unmarked.
