Set of Piero Fornasetti Medaglioni Crescent Catchall Trays, 1960s

About the Item

A set of six (6) vintage catch all crescent shaped decorative dishes designed and manufactured by the Italian master of playful and surreal self-expression Piero Fornasetti in the 1960s. Each dish or vide poche is in the shape of a half moon or demi-lune with a black and white neoclassical medallion theme on a gold or gilt background. The plates are all individually numbered 1 through 6 on the back together with the Fornasetti mark. Could also be used as an ashtray or as candy, nut, salad or other serving plate.
