Box with marquetry decorations. Lemongrass, rosewood, palorosa, mahogany wood. XIX century. Rectangular box with a flat top made of wood and decorated with a delicate marquetry with lemongrass, rosewood, palorosa and mahogany that has smooth moldings in the lower area on the small legs it has. The fronts and the cover present geometric compositions reminiscent of the Italian "grotesques" (without the figurative elements that were habitual in these Renaissance compositions that influenced Europe so much), distributed harmoniously and around a marked axis of symmetry." · Size: 17x27x18 cms.
