A very charming early 19th century chinoiserie decorated strong box. Made between 1820-1850 in France or Germany. The box retains its original blue decorated interior and its key. The Georgian style handle is also very boldly cast. The decoration is in good order. Strong boxes with this high quality decoration are rare as they are normally plain metal. The lock is fully functioning.
