A superb example of a mid century heavy gauge Guilloche and enameled Sterling Silver Gilt hinged lidded Card Case of outstanding quality and condition for such an early silver item. The rectangular cover enameled in colours of red and greens depicting a spary of roses on a sunray design background. Mark of H C D for Birmingham Silversmiths Henry Clifford Davis. Birmingham Hallmark for 1961. Condition: Superb condition with no losses or repairs anywhere, good crisp easy to read hallmarks, closes firmly, gilt interior is perfect. Width: 4” (10.25cm). Height: 3.25” (8.25cm). Location: Dublin City, Ireland.

The finely chased silver mounted rim and hinged cover, hand cut with three bands of lozenges on a plain ground, decorative star cut base underneath. Condition: Exceptional condition for such an early piece, with no losses or clouding inside, silver mounts are unmarked but test positive for silver. Wonderful age wear underneath on base.
