About the Item
An exceptional Art Deco powder jar very desirable and would enhance any collection. The representation of a couple in love has been expertly hand painted, from the lightly blushed cheeks to the bouquet of flowers, this is a great example of Art Deco. Originating from Germany in the 1930s from heavy porcelain. The skirt of the lady and the cape of the man are decorated with black motifs and golden accents. Her hair is silver-colored and his hair is gold-colored. Much larger in size than normally found being 18 cm alone weighs over 500 g. The number 9686 is incised under the base. In super condition with no chips or repairs and with only minor wear on the silver and gold, a sign of age to be found on almost all gilt figurines dating from the beginning of last century.
