A fine and impressive, collectable vintage English 9 karat yellow gold box; an addition to our boxes and cases collection. This impressive vintage English 9 karat yellow gold box has been realistically modelled in the form of a peanut shell or monkey nut. The body of this antique gold box is embellished with a naturalistic texture replicating the details of the shell's grain. This piece is fitted with a hinged cover ornamented with a continuation of the shell's texture. Condition This vintage gold box is a very good gauge of gold, excellent quality and in excellent condition in keeping with age. Full hallmarks struck to the rim of body are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this vintage gold piece. Dimensions Diameter, 1.2cm/0.5". Length, 3.5cm/1.4". Weight 0.3 troy ounce/8.1g. Maker: S J Rose & Son.
