About the Item
This small Venetian gem has lacca povera decoration which is the Italians version of decoupage. It is hand-painted and lacquered with cut-outs of various saints. A beautiful aged box that would be appropriate on either a desk or side table.
Lacca poveraor Arte Povera is an Italian form of decoupage taken to a fine art in Venice in the 18th century, very few pieces have survived.
