Antique Bronze Burl Walnut French Jewelry Sewing Casket Silk Lined Interior 19C

About the Item

An exceptionally fine quality example of a Lady’s or Gentleman’s early Victorian Period Gilt Bronze mounted well figured Burr Walnut Jewlery Casket or Table Box made during the third quarter of the Nineteenth Century, of French origin. Raised on its original decorative bronze supports. The rectangular form with hinged “up and under” lid opening to reveal its original cream silk lined interior, complete with lift out sectional tray. Condition: Good condition with nice patination, no losses to brass inlays. Lock is present and working, complete with original tasseled key key. Some light staining to cream silk interior, overall, a wonderful item in good condition. Height: (entire closed) 6.5" (16.5cm). Width: (at front) 12” (30cm). Depth: 6.5” (16.5cm).
