This is a small antique trinket box. An English, malachite and silver decorative box with elephant finial, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
Wonderfully diminutive, with captivating natural stone
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in very good order
Polished slices offer the alluring colour and serpentine bands of malachite
Delightful small elephant adorning the lid, stamped with 'Silver'
Detailed eyes, tusks and the distinctive large ears of the African Elephant
