Silver Tea Caddy

About the Item

Antique silver plated tea caddy with high reliefs of a village scene surrounding the entire body of the tea caddy, illustrating musicians, dancers, taverner, a group socializing and drinking, and a very charming dog looking on. This quality caddy was made by Webster Mfg. Co. See photo of marks; clearly legible are W&S, Star, Fleur-de-lis, and faint Lion mark.  Webster Mfg. Co was formed in Brooklyn New York in 1859. There was a progression of names used during manufacturing. Webster Mfg. Co. 1859 – 1873, E.G. Webster & Bros. 1873 – 1886, E.G. Webster & Son 1886 – 1928.
