Large Antique French Louis XV Ormolu Rococo Candelabra After Meissonnier
About the Item
A magnificent pair of antique French candelabra in the manner of Juste Aurele Meissonier (Italian, 1695-1750). Beautifully formed as acanthus wrapped stems, with swirling acanthus arms and fluted tulip-form nozzles. The design is beautifully bold, well chased and finished ormolu (finely gilded bronze).
Condition is excellent with a recent gild in 24ct gold, some slight marks and a slightly visible join on one arm.
