Dancing Nun 2 by Callum Partridge

About the Item

Dancing Nun 1 & 2 candlesticks, designed and made by British silversmith Callum Partridge. Fabricated from COR-TEN steel and sterling silver, the latter being a material Partridge likes to incorporate in his sculptures and objects. The choice of materials allows Partridge to explore a broader colour palette through patination and oxidization. The Nun’s are a true celebration of movement and materiality; the drape and flow in the body of each piece is reminiscent of starched fabric but has an unexpected softness and flow to the form. The gentle nod and tilt of each form gives the Nun a dance like movement bringing humor to the otherwise sober forms.
