Pair of 19th C. French Empire Bronze and Patinated Brass Four-Light Candelabra

About the Item

Bring stately elegance and classical refinement to a mantel, buffet, or console with this striking pair of French Empire candelabra, crafted in France circa 1880 from finely chased gilt bronze and contrasting patinated brass. Each tall, architectural candlestick rises from a molded triangular base adorned with acanthus leaves and scrolling ornament, supporting a tapering patinated brass shaft capped with an ornate gilt-bronze capital. Above, three scrolling candle arms extend in symmetrical balance, each fitted with a fluted and leaf-wrapped nozzle inspired by Corinthian motifs. The warm gilt surfaces retain a rich lustrous glow, beautifully complemented by the darker patinated brass column that adds depth and visual contrast. Elegant, well-proportioned, and richly detailed, these antique Empire candelabra offer both decorative grandeur and functional illumination. They are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and display beautifully with or without candles. Dimensions: 23" H x 8.25" diameter.
