About the Item
An Italian period Rococo painted and carved wooden candlestick from the 18th century, with blue accents. This exquisite Italian candlestick features the typical curvature found on Rococo pieces. The candle holder at the top is adorned with hollow gadroons and is supported by delicate volutes. The entire body is accented by a lovely arrangement of C-scrolls, sometimes adorned with acanthus leaves. The tripod base on which the candlestick is resting, is quite majestic, with its Rococo cartouche decorating each side, the ensemble being raised on three scrolled feet. With its graceful lines and lovely painted finish, this Italian 18th century Rococo candlestick will be lovely decorative accentuation in any home, perhaps placed on a side table, chest-of-drawers or buffet.
