    A magnificent, fine impressive pair of antique George IV English cast sterling silver candlesticks made by Robert Garrard II; an addition of our ornamental silverware collection These magnificent antique George IV cast silver candlesticks, in sterling standard, have a baluster shaped form with a waisted knopped stem onto a shaped base. The bulbous capitals are embellished floral and foliate decoration accented with interlacing ivy vines, all on a matte background. The capitals are fitted with the original hallmarked detachable sconces ornamented scrolling leaf and floral ornamentation to the shaped rim in addition to a matte texture and plain scalloped decorated border. The upper portion of each column is encompassed with a magnificent eagle design peering around the side of a grotesque lion style mask. The lower knops are encircled with further naturalistic ornamentation flanked with fluted decoration in a swirl design and tiered quilted motifs.
