Art Deco Skyscraper Garniture Set with Candlesticks, Carved Limestone

About the Item

Remarkable and unique, this garniture set of three carved limestone pieces -- a centerpiece flanked by two candlesticks, is a stunning example of high style Art Deco sculpture. The centerpiece is clearly inspired by Art Deco skyscrapers and monuments, with stepped-back sides and monumental doorway that suggest it could have served as a small-scale model for a fully-realized structure. The side elements have carved recesses to hold candles. The sculptor was clearly a master of his trade, and used the finest Indiana limestone for this set. The centerpiece is 15.25" high, and the candlesticks are 9" high each.
