Princely Pomp Candlestick After Pierre Philippe Thomire

About the Item

Extremely finely chased and cast bronze. Fully sculpted figures (Viktoria). Carrying on the head and supporting with the hands torch-shaped shaft with 12 cornucopia, curved lighthouses. This model is one of the most proportioned chandeliers. Designed by Charles Percier he was a French architect of the Empire style, a neoclassic form of neoclassicism. A comparable model is available in the Chateau Fontainebleau. (T-Sam-10).
