French Empire Clock

About the Item

A very finely cast gilt bronze clock depicting Psyche at her toilet. The reflective mirror of polished bronze and that each element is cast separately then screwed on is an excellent example of the level of craftsmanship seen through out this clock.

  • Condition:
    Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Gilding in great shape. The figure is missing wings but is not visible as they are at the back of the clock, two small rosettes are missing from the top of the mirror. not in running order, but mechanism is intact with the exception of the hands.
