English Neo-Gothic Grandfather Clock, Payne & Co., 19th Century

About the Item

Large tower-shaped grandfather clock with crenellations and openwork tracery windows on the sides, second half of the 19th century. The diamond-shaped window reveals the clock face with Roman numerals, inscribed “Payne 163 New Bond Street”. Payne & Co. were active from 1811-1875. A stylised Gothic portal door acts as an entrance to the weights. The striking movement can also be switched to silent on the dial.
