French Brass Chiming Lantern Clock, 19th Century

About the Item

A late 19th century French lantern clock, the dial inset with ceramic numerals showing the hours and minutes. The numerals have some wear which gives the clock a lovely aged appearance. The brass surround decorated with a female face between four cherubs blowing horns with a decorated arched top culminating in a fleur de lys and housing a decorative bell. The wooden case with four brass finials to the corners and mounted on brass toupe feet. The quality French two train movement with outside countwheel, marked 'H&F Paris', chimes the hours and half hours on a gong, The clock comes complete with its original key and pendulum. The clock has been comprehensively serviced in our workshop and is now in beautiful condition.
