Antique French Gilt Mantel Clock with Winged Cherub, Silk Suspension, circa 1830

About the Item

A beautiful early French Cherub mantel clock, circa 1830 with gilt brass case, the ceramic dial is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, with breguet hands, the bezel is decorated with flowers above a pair of foliate swags with a standing crane to the centre. The rectangular base is decorated with flowering foliate swags and a central cartouche with a maidens head, on four decorative bun feet. The early French movement with silk suspension pendulum chimes the hours and half hours on a bell. The clock case has been cleaned and the movement given a detailed service by our qualified Horologist. This is a quality clock from the early part of the 19thcentury and is fine working condition and it would grace a salon, library or entrance foyer.
