French Ormolu Mantel Clock

About the Item

Arch top French mantel clock in a finely decorated Ormolu case with classical scene to the front, standing on a mahogany base with brass banding and resting on brass feet. Enamel dial with Roman numerals and original ‘blued’ steel ‘Moonpoise’ hands. Eight day French movement with silk suspension marked ‘Berger A Paris’ and numbered 1671, circa 1870.
