French Portico Timber Clock, circa 1815

About the Item

A brilliant French portico clock with ormolu mounts and pendulum mounted with 2 swans with 'blackened' necks and wings. The timber is gleaming with its original finish. The timber is a highly decorative burr veneer over a solid timber case. The dial has an ormolu scrolled outer ring with a steel face with black Roman numerals and blackened minute and hour hands. The strike is on the half hour and hour. The back plate is stamped with the maker's name 'Peons' in an oval ground and the number 262 higher up on the plate. The item is in excellent condition with a key.
