White Marble and Ormolu Portico Mantle Clock

About the Item

A beautiful and original antique French portico clock, crafted from white marble mounted with ormolu (finely gilded bronze). The face of the clock is daintily painted with floral swags between the numbers on porcelain enamel, and comes complete with its original finely fretted gilt brass hands. The case is surmounted by an impressive urn finial, while four smaller finials top the four marble pillars that support the movement. The whole piece is mounted on a shaped marble base, embellished with ormolu panels. Note this exquisite clock is sold as a decoration piece.
