    A beautiful English hard stone gilt bronze and silvered mantel clock, late 19th century, attributed to Howell James, the design by E Finley, circa 1871. Possibly made for the Turkish market.   The clock surmounted by a minaret with moon crescent centered by a star. The oval case decorated with ruby coloured and agate hard stones and centered by a circular enameled white dial with moon hands and Roman numerals, flanked to each side by a large silvered elephant head attached to the case by chains, and skirted by a decorative engraved and fluted panel, on a stepped rectangular base, on four bun feet.
